A midday shooting in eastern Jefferson County left one man dead.

Jefferson County sheriff’s officials said the shooting took place about 12:15 p.m. Sunday. Deputies responded to a residential area 2400 block of Second Place N.W. and found the wounded victim outside.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.

Sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between two family members.
