Man killed in I-565 crash in Huntsville
A crash on Interstate 565 in Huntsville has left one man dead this afternoon.
Huntsville police officers responded to a two-vehicle wreck after “the driver of one of the vehicles lost control and flipped multiple times,” a spokesperson said.
The crash happened on Saturday at 2:46 p.m. between Bob Wallace Avenue and Jordan Lane, according to Don Webster, a spokesperson for HEMSI, the local ambulance service.
The man, said to be in his mid-twenties by HEMSI, was pronounced dead at Huntsville Hospital.
Three westbound lanes of I-565 at exit 15 were shut down because of the crash, but have since been reopened.
Police are investigating the wreck. It is the second deadly car crash in Huntsville this weekend. On Friday night, one person was killed and multiple victims were seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck in the 5500 block of Promenade Point Parkway.
