Man killed in drive-by shooting at Midfield home now identified
Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a drive-by shooting Saturday in Midfield.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Javaris Deon Patton. He was 29.
Authorities said Patton was sitting on the front porch of a home in Midfield about 2 a.m. when someone drove by and opened fire. The house is located in the 1400 block of Rayfield Drive.
Deputies arrived at the home to find Patton unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:14 a.m.
Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said evidence collected at the scene showed multiple shots – more than 20 – were fired at the house.
No arrests have been announced.
