A 23-year-old man died and another man was injured Friday after they were involved in a wreck in Elmore County, authorities said.

Gavin Oryen Prescott Young, 23, of Tallassee, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on Taylor Road, about four miles southeast of Tallassee, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney.

Young was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu that struck a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, said McKinney.

The driver of the pickup was taken to Baptist South in Montgomery for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Authorities did not say if weather conditions played a role in the wreck.
