A Troy man was killed and another man was injured Tuesday night following a wreck between a car and a tractor-trailer near Montgomery, authorities said Wednesday.

Kevin B. Walker, 52, of Troy, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle was struck by a 2001 International tractor-trailer at the intersection of U.S. 82 and U.S. 231, said Sgt. Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Walker was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by the 105-mile marker, about eight miles south of Montgomery, said Burkett.

A 47-year-old man riding with Walker was taken to Baptist Medical Center South with undisclosed injuries.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
