Man killed after opening fire without warning at south Alabama apartment complex
The Mobile County Sheriff’s office has released more information regarding a shooting at a south Alabama apartment complex Sunday that left one person dead.
The deceased individual has been identified as Noah Jones, according to MCSO.
The shooting which occurred in Chickasaw at the Oak Garden Apartments also involved two other individuals sustaining injuries.
One individual is in critical condition while the other has been treated and released, according to MCSO.
MCSO said that witnesses to the shooting say that Jones came to the apartment with two handguns and began shooting without warning.
Jones was accompanied by two other men but they fled after a person returned fire at Jones. Jones was subsequently shot during the gunfire and died at the scene.
MCSO said they are still looking for the individuals who accompanied Jones. The sheriff’s office also released photos of the guns found at the scene.
MCSO did not specify who the weapons belonged to and whether they were possessed legally.
The shooting remains under investigation and evidence will be presented to a grand jury, according to the sheriff’s office.
