Man killed, 3 injured in east Alabama crash

One person was killed and three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Pike County on Sunday.

Bill B. Williams, 54, of Brundidge, died at the scene on U.S. 231 about a mile north of Brundidge, according to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Williams was driving a 2009 Hyundai Genesis that struck the rear of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner driven by Colin E. Vaughan, 48, of Troy, according to state troopers.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Williams was not using a seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle, said Lt. Jeremy J. Burkett in the news release.

Vaughan was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to state troopers. Law enforcement said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Michelle L. Ennis, 50, of Troy, and Angel D. Buckreis, 51, of Ariton, were passengers in the 4Runner, troopers said. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment.
