Man in critical condition after exchange of gunfire in Loxley
A 40-year-old Loxley man is in critical condition after he and an unidentified suspect exchanged gunfire at the victim’s home Tuesday night.
The Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit said Loxley police and Baldwin County deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a residence in the 13000 block of Highway 90 in Loxley about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
After responding to the scene, the Major Crimes Unit was called in.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim — identified as 40-year-old Stanley Koenig Sr. — and the unidentified suspect exchanged gunfire at Koenig’s home, with Koenig struck at least once during the exchange.
Koenig was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.
Investigators say they aren’t releasing any additional information, but are requesting the public’s help. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MCU at 251-972-8589.
