One man is dead and another in custody after a Thursday afternoon shooting in Mobile, according to police.

Police were called at approximately 4:12 p.m. to the 4800 block of Dan Williams Road on a report of a shooting.

Officers found, Jerry Frison, 52, in the front yard of a home. Frison was pronounced dead.

Police found the suspect, Ervin Payne, 58, at a nearby residence.

Payne was arrested and taken to Metro Jail.
