Mobile police have identified the victim of an early morning shooting on Heron Drive in Mobile Wednesday.

According to Mobile police chief Paul Prine, officers responded a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Heron Drive about 12:17 a.m. Wednesday.

Arriving at the scene, they found 50-year-old Michael E. Carmichael suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a driveway. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
