An investigation is underway after a man was killed in a hit-and-run in Hueytown.

Officers responded about 6 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a person down near the intersection of Hueytown Road and Walker Avenue.

They arrived to find the man dead on the side of the road.

Investigators believe the man was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Evidence indicates the crash happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
