Man drowns in pool in north Alabama
One person is dead after a drowning in Decatur, according to officials.
It happened at a home on the 3300 block of Cedarhurst Drive Southwest, according to the Decatur Police Department. Members of Decatur Fire and Rescue, along with members of the Decatur Police Department, were dispatched to the area in reference to a drowning.
According to Irene Cardenas-Martinez, the police department’s public information liaison, officials found 31-year-old Rafael Ramirez deceased.
An investigation found that Ramirez was alone in the pool at the home last evening and drowned. According to Cardenas-Martinez, no foul play is suspected in the drowning, as it’s believed to be an accident.
Officials are still investigating.
