Man dies two months after being shot in Montgomery, police say
An assault investigation has turned into a homicide probe after a man died Thursday, nearly two months after he was shot in Montgomery, police said.
Richie Freeney, 35, of Montgomery, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound in the 3300 block of McElvy Street on the night of Dec. 22.
Freeney was taken to a hospital for treatment.
He was pronounced dead on Thursday, police said.
