A pedestrian was killed on I-65 near the Alabama-Tennessee line Tuesday night after they were struck by a tractor-trailer while trying to cross the interstate to find help after wrecking their vehicle.

The man tried to cross the interstate on foot after crashing his car when he was struck around 11:14 p.m. Tuesday, Limestone County Coroner Mike West told WAAY.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the incident, the station reported.
