Man critically injured in accident at Alabama BF Goodrich plant not expected to survive

A man was critically injured when he was exposed to high voltage electricity in an industrial accident at an Alabama manufacturing plant.

The victim, authorities said Wednesday, is not expected to survive.

The accident happened on Sunday at BF Goodrich in Tuscaloosa. Details surrounding the incident were not released.

The victim was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was notified and are working alongside the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences medical examiner and Occupational Safety and Health Administration, said TVCU Capt. Jack Kennedy.

“No criminal act is suspected at this time,” Kennedy said.

The investigations into any related work conditions will be conducted by OSHA.

Kennedy said it is the practice of the TVCU to not release identifying information about individuals unless part of a criminal investigation.
