Man, 54, indicted for murder in slaying of girlfriend whose body was found in rural Macon County
A suspect has been indicted in the death of a woman who disappeared earlier this year from Tallapoosa County and whose body was later recovered in Macon County.
Arthur James Tinger, 54, is charged with murder in the slaying of 34-year-old Sandrea Elaine Taylor. Tinger was indicted by a Macon County grand jury, Fifth Judicial Circuit of Alabama District Attorney Mike Segrest announced Friday.
Taylor was reported missing to the Jackson’s Gap Police Department on March 8. Family at that time said they had not heard from her in over a week.
On March 27, Segrest said, a passerby discovered human remains in rural Macon County. The discovery was made near a residence on County Road 43.
An autopsy determined Taylor died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Segrest said Taylor and Tinger had been living together at the time of her disappearance.
