Man, 47, killed in single-vehicle weekend crash in west Birmingham

A single-vehicle crash in west Birmingham left one man dead.

The wreck happened at 12:05 a.m. Saturday on Woodland Avenue S.W. at Madison Avenue S.W.

Details surrounding the fatal crash have not been released.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Daryl Sherard Peeples. He was 47 and lived in Birmingham.

Peeples was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:25 a.m.

Birmingham police are investigating.
