Huntsville police charged Kevon Clifton, 33, with murder after a deadly shooting in the parking lot of 1024 North Memorial Parkway, a press release announced Sunday.

HPD said officers responded to the area shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday and found an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, HPD said.

The release said Major Crimes Unit Investigators believe a verbal altercation led up to the shooting. Investigators are working to notify the man’s next of kin. Pending notification, the victim’s identity will be released, according to the release.
