Malcolm Johnson Jr. becomes third Auburn wide receiver to enter the transfer portal
Auburn wide receiver Malcolm Johnson Jr. is reportedly entering the transfer portal, according to reports from 247Sports and On3, becoming the third Aubrun receiver to begin looking elsewhere.
Wide receivers Omari Kelly and Jyaire Shorter already announced plans to go in the portal, leaving five scholarship receivers remaining on the roster for 2024 along with four incoming freshmen in the 2024 recruiting class should they all sign with Auburn.
That would include 5-star commits Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson.
Johnson finished the year with six catches for 89 yards, and started multiple games this season. He only had more than one catch in a game once this season with two catches for 59 yards in the opener against UMass.
He played in 11 games.
Johnson is listed as a junior after arriving at Auburn in 2020. He has 14 career catches for 199 yards and one touchdown.
