Madison moves to boost public safety in fast-growing Town Madison
Improved fire and police response will be coming to rapidly growing Town Madison as the city broke ground this week on its $9 million public safety annex.
The 38,000 square-foot facility will house Fire Station 4 as well as a police substation, city officials said Monday. Madison bought the building on Business Park Boulevard in 2023 from Hexagon for $4.4 million, and $5 million in renovations are under way. Madison County contributed $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds last year.
Work on the existing office space should be completed this summer, according to the city, with the fire station to come online in Spring 2026.
