Madison issues permit for $6.7 million assisted living facility
A $6.7 million assisted living facility in Madison was the most expensive project issued a permit last week in the Huntsville area, according to Southern Exposure Information.
Highland Wake is listed as the builder for the 35,195-foot Carillion Oaks Assisted Living Facility at 1770 Slaughter Road. The facility will have 48 beds and sit on 3.65 acres.
According to the Carillion Oaks website, it will be an all-female memory care facility. Another one is planned in Athens as well, along with Daphne and Lincoln. The company already has open facilities in Heflin and Mobile.
Services offered include help with memory loss from dementia and Alzheimer’s and transportation to doctor’s appointments.
Overall, 166 permits were issued in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties totaling more than $47 million. Madison County issued 73 totaling $16.5 million. Huntsville issued 53 for $8.5 million. Madison issued 20 totaling $11.5 million. Decatur issued 16 for $9.3 million and Athens issued four totaling $1.1 million.
