A suspect is in custody after a deadly shooting in Hazel Green, authorities said Friday.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation after a person was shot and killed in the 100 block of Sublimity Court in Hazel Green.

One person is in custody.

Investigators with the sheriff’s office and the Crime Scene Investigation unit are on the scene and talking to witnesses.

The office did not say when the deadly shooting took place, adding that more information “will be available at a later time.”
