Madison could make its mayor the state’s fourth highest-paid
Madison city council is scheduled to vote Monday night on raises for elected officials that would make the city’s mayor among the highest paid in Alabama.
Pay for the city’s mayor would be set at $140,000 under a resolution on the council’s meeting agenda. The raises would not go into effect until after the municipal election this summer.
And at least one sitting official would not be affected: Mayor Paul Finley announced in October he would not seek re-election.
