LSU sets record for College World Series Jello Shot Challenge just 4 days into CWS
LSU fans came. They saw. They conquered.
Four days into the College World Series, and just before their beloved Tigers took the field in Omaha on Monday against Wake Forest, the LSU faithful set a CWS Jello Shot Challenge.
LSU fans had purchased 21,435 Jello shots at Rocco’s Pizza & Cantina in Omaha.
Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves purchased 6,000 shots, which helped break last year’s mark of 18,777 set by Ole Miss.
A portion of proceeds from each shot go toward food pantries for all eight teams as well as Heartland Food Bank.
For the uninitiated, every year – in conjunction with the College World Series, Rocco’s has a Jello Shot Challenge. For $4.50 a shot, you can designate which team each shot purchased gets counted toward.
Last year, Kevin Culjat, owner of the establishment, decided to give back after the unprecedented show of support for schools in Omaha. Culjat donated $2 for every Jello Shot purchased by each school’s fan base to the June B. Gearhart Full Circle Pantry Food Pantry at Arkansas and the Grove Food Pantry at Ole Miss.
