Loxley police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting, and media reports suggest it might have stemmed from an altercation between an aunt and her niece.

According to Fox 10, police were dispatched to a house within the Bay Branch Estates subdivision around 7:30 a.m. and discovered a 55-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to University Hospital with a life threatening injury, according to reports. Loxley police have identified a suspect through surveillance footage and are searching for her, according to Fox 10. The victim was allegedly the suspect’s aunt.

Loxley police, when reached Saturday night, said to call back on Monday.
