Louisiana man killed in collision between Jeep, tractor-trailer on I-59 in Tuscaloosa County

A Louisiana man died Tuesday morning in a crash between the Jeep he was driving and a tractor-trailer on I-59 in Tuscaloosa County, authorities said Tuesday evening.

Robert A. Brown, 67, of Leesville, Louisiana, was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler when the vehicle collided with a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer around 10:49 a.m. Tuesday on I-59, about three miles south of Fosters, said Cpl. Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck at the 59-mile marker of I-59, King said.

Authorities did not say whether the driver of the tractor-trailer was injured.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
