Longtime radio show host dead at 56
David “Ace” Cannon, a popular radio show host in the southeast for 30 years, has died at the age of 56.
A cause of death has not been revealed.
His sister, Piper Wilson, shared the news via her Facebook page on Tuesday.
Hits 96.1, the home FM station for “The Ace & TJ Show” from 2012 to 2021, also posted the news on social media.
“The iHeartMedia Charlotte family is devastated to learn of the passing of David ‘Ace’ Cannon. For years, he was an important part of so many people’s lives, providing companionship and laughter to his many listeners and colleagues.
“Our thoughts are Ace’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
“The Ace & TJ Show,” which Cannon was involved with from 1993 to September 2024, aired in Alabama and Louisiana before a move to Charlotte in 1998, per WCNC.
