Live updates: No. 2 Alabama eyes SEC regular-season title against Auburn

There are a handful of storylines to watch in Coleman Coliseum on Wednesday night: Can No. 2 Alabama capture its second Southeastern Conference regular-season title in the last three years?; Will Auburn do enough to boost its NCAA Tournament resume?; What will Brandon Miller’s pregame intro look like after the prior one was deemed “inappropriate” and the latest in a string of non-game issues for the program?

A highly anticipated Iron Bowl rematch will tip off on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. central. AL.com will provide live updates throughout.

Nate Oats’ Crimson Tide (25-4, 15-1 Southeastern Conference) won the prior matchup over Bruce Pearl’s Auburn, 77-69 on Feb. 11, with a late rally on a night where the 3-point shooting wasn’t up to its usual standard (6-for-21). A similar situation played out on Saturday when Alabama outlasted Arkansas at home despite its second-worst 3-point shooting rate of the year (3-for-22).

Auburn (19-10, 9-7), meanwhile, is coming off a 32-point blowout loss at Kentucky. The Tigers went 3-5 in the month of February and need at least a competitive showing in its final two games. (Bracketlogosits project the Tigers as in the 64-team field but on bubble watch.) After tonight, Auburn hosts No. 12 Tennessee on March 4.

With a win tonight or at No. 24 Texas A&M this weekend, Alabama will take sole possession of the SEC regular-season crown and the one-seed in next week’s conference tournament in Nashville.
