Live updates: Nick Saban previews Alabama footballâs Week 2 game against Texas
It’s Texas week.
Alabama football is back at practice after dismantling Middle Tennessee, 56-7, and now attention will turn to the Longhorns. It’s likely to be a matchup between two top-10 teams this Saturday night in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide (1-0) entered the season at No. 4 and Texas at No. 11 before beating Rice, 37-10.
Former UA offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian will return to Tuscaloosa, this time on the opposing sideline. He and quarterback Quinn Ewers are looking to avenge last year’s 20-19 loss in Austin.
Nick Saban will talk about the Longhorns, quarterback Jalen Milroe’s performance, and more when he steps to the podium at approximately 12 p.m. Refresh this page for updates.
–Saban said the team “executed well” against MTSU. He congratulated Milroe and Caleb Downs for being recognized by the conference in its player of the week awards.
–”I think everybody knows Sark is a really good coach,” Saban said about his former assistant before complimenting Texas’ depth. He called WR James Worthy “outstanding.”
–“This is a really good team all the way around,” Saban said, referring to Week 2 as a quasi-benchmark game, “… Where are we as a team?”
