Live updates from Nick Saban’s radio show before Alabama plays LSU

It’s a big week for Alabama football. The Crimson Tide faces an opportunity to avenge one of last season’s losses when LSU visits Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers bring one of the SEC’s best offenses to town, and will be looking to dash Alabama’s playoff dreams for a second season in a row. The game is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, and will be aired on CBS.

Ahead of the game, Alabama head coach Nick Saban is set to make his weekly appearance on the “Hey Coach” radio show, live from Baumhower’s Victory Grille in Tuscaloosa. Saban is scheduled to put on the headset at 7 p.m. CT.

Follow along here for live updates once Saban’s appearance begins.

— CBS play-by-play announcer Brad Nessler is tonight’s media guest.

— Saban begins by talking about Alabama and the SEC’s relationship with CBS. Says it was huge for building up the SEC. Credits the network’s reach for Mark Ingram’s ability to win the Heisman Trophy. Says he hates that the relationship will not continue.

— Saban says players have come back from bye week with good attitude. Says it’s important for players to focus on each and every play, notes that he doesn’t think the Tide has played a complete game this season. Discusses how difficult it is to face LSU’s offense with so many weapons. Praises Tiger QB Jayden Daniels. Agrees with Peewee that it’s important to control the line of scrimmage.

— Nessler recalls the 2019 game, when LSU beat Alabama in an offensive showcase. Saban says LSU’s current offense is similar in many ways to how the Tigers played then.
