The final week of the AHSAA softball season is getting started on Monday in Oxford.

Class 2A and 5A will begin games to begin the AHSAA state softball tournament at Choccolocco Park, with action set to get started at 9:30 a.m. The original 9 a.m. beginning has been moved due to inclement weather concerns.

Each eight-team class is set up the same with The No. 1 qualifier from each of four regionals playing the No. 2 qualifier of a designated regional.

First-round games will begin at 11 a.m., with winners bracket semifinals and the first round of the elimination bracket set to follow at 2 p.m.

The day will conclude with winners bracket championships set for 3 p.m., with the winner of those punching a ticket to the state championship game at Signature Field; the elimination bracket will also continue with games at 5 p.m.
