Live updates as UAB takes on UTSA in the Alamodome
Welcome to the Alamodome, where UAB (2-4, 1-1) looks to shake things up against two-time reigning CUSA champion and current AAC rival UTSA. The Blazers are a 9.5-point underdog to UTSA for the 7 p.m. CT kickoff in the game that will air on ESPNU.
The Blazers are coming off their first AAC win and second of the season and currently rank 17th in passing offense (304.2 ypg). UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno ranks third in completions per game (29.3), fourth in completion rate (75.5 percent) and 10th in passing yards (1,795 yards) — one of two quarterbacks in the nation, along with Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., to rank top 10 in all three categories.

— UAB goes backward on its first two plays, both passes, and Jacob Zeno fumbles on third down and UTSA recovers at the Blazers’ 10-yard line. Frank Harris connects with Joshua Cephus on the next play to make it UTSA 14, UAB 0 at the 10:41 mark of the first quarter.
— The Roadrunners race down the field on an 8-play, 75-yard drive and Robert Henry gains 33 yards on back-to-back carries and scores on a 19-yard run to make it UTSA 7, UAB 0 with 12:05 left in the opening frame.
— UAB wins the coin toss and elects to defer to the second half. UTSA is set to receive the opening kickoff.
