UAB (3-6, 2-4 AAC) enters the contest with the 29th-ranked offense (438.9 ypg) in the nation, led by junior quarterback Jacob Zeno and senior running back Jermaine Brown Jr.

Zeno ranks third nationally in completion rate (74.8 percent) and fourth in completions per game (27), and is 585 yards away from setting the UAB single-season passing record. Meanwhile, Brown is now the program’s leader in all-purpose yards (4,673) and is nine yards shy of moving into third place on UAB’s career rushing list.

— Following the injury, Temple quarterback E.J. Warner connects with a wide-open Dante Wright down the seam and the junior receiver takes it 71 yards into the end zone to make it Temple 7, UAB 0 with 11:33 left in the opening frame.

— Linebacker Jackson Bratton and safety Ike Rowell combine on a tackle of Temple receiver John Adams, who was loaded onto the medial cart and taken off the field. Adams appeared to injure his leg during the tackle.

— UAB wins the toss and elects to receive the opening kickoff.
