Live updates: Alabama wraps up spring season with 2023 A-Day game
A-Day is here. After 14 spring practices, the first part of Alabama football trying to “take it back” means competing against themselves in the annual spring scrimmage.
Saturday afternoon will be the first time the public meets the 2023 Crimson Tide. The roster and coaching staff was split via a draft earlier this week and are competing for a celebratory steak dinner. Attention will likely turn to the quarterbacks as Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson continue to make their case for the starting job. Milroe will lead the first-string offense on Saturday.
The lower bowl began to fill an hour before kickoff as Nick Saban and two of last year’s captains were honored at Denny Chimes. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

–The captains for Team Crimson were Justin Eboigbe and Kool-AId McKinstry. Team White was represented by Caleb Downs and Darrion Dalcourt.
–The first-team offense will open against the first-team defense. The first play was a shot downfield that was too far in front of Milroe’s target and bounced incomplete. On third-and-3, Milroe scrambled for a first down after evading the rush.
