Live updates: Alabama softball faces elimination vs. Oklahoma in super regional
Alabama softball’s 2025 season is hanging by a string. The Crimson Tide lost to Oklahoma on Friday to open the NCAA Tournament’s Norman super regional, and will now face the Sooners again Saturday, with a loss meaning elimination.
Oklahoma’s defensive efforts, and a sterling performance by pitcher Sam Landry, completely stifled Alabama on Friday. The Sooners won 3-0, pushing the Tide to the brink.
“They got key hits, we didn’t” Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said after the first matchup. That’s the story of the game. We had runners in scoring position, but we just didn’t get that key hit.”
Alabama and Oklahoma are scheduled to face off at 2 p.m. CT in Norman, with a Tide win meaning the teams would play again Sunday. Saturday’s game will be aired on ESPN.
