Live updates: Alabama baseball faces elimination vs. Southern Miss
Alabama baseball’s 2025 season is on the brink of a disappointing end. The Crimson Tide, which fell to Miami on Friday, is playing an NCAA Tournament elimination game on Saturday in the Hattiesburg regional.
UA will face the site host and No. 1 seed in the regional, Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles dropped their first game of the tournament 11-4 to Columbia on Friday.
Alabama owed the loss largely to an abysmal start. Miami had a three-run homer in the first inning, before UA was able to record a single out.
The Tide came back to make it interesting later in the game, but never could grab the lead. The Hurricanes won 5-3, pushing Rob Vaughn’s squad to the edge of elimination.
The Crimson Tide and Golden Eagles are scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT first pitch on Saturday at Pete Taylor Park. The game will be aired on ESPN 2.
