Light aircraft crashes in north Alabama, pilot taken to hospital
Multiple agencies responded to the crash of a fixed-wing “Ultralight” aircraft Sunday afternoon in Madison County.
Toney Fire & Rescue said the incident happened at about 4:42 p.m.
Dispatchers received a call about a possible plane crash in the area of Opp Reynolds Road and Mitchell Drive in Toney.
First responders found a downed fixed-wing aircraft in a field near the intersection. The pilot safely exited the aircraft and was transported to a hospital for further evaluation, according to the department.
No additional injuries were reported and the aircraft was removed from the crash site.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and HEMSI also responded.
