Lee Corso gets wish as ESPNâs GameDay announces Week 5 destination
Lee Corso said Saturday during “College GameDay” that regardless of the outcome of Saturday night’s game between Ohio State and Notre Dame, the popular college pregame show should head to Durham for Notre Dame-Duke next week.
“I think, personally, that — even if Notre Dame loses — we should go to Duke,” Corso said on Saturday.
As it turns out, Notre Dame did lose to Ohio State on the final play of the game Saturday, 17-14.
Corso still got his wish.
The Duke defeated UConn 41-7 and is now 4-0. Riley Leonard threw for 248 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score as No. 18 Duke routed UConn in the Blue Devils’ first road game of the season. Duke held UConn to just 32 yards in the first half and 203 yards overall.
The Huskies’ only score came with 12 seconds left in the game. Duke led 27-0 at halftime. Duke’s DeWayne Carter put an exclamation point on the win with a 27-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the third quarter. Duke, which hosts No. 9 Notre Dame next week, is 4-0 for the first time since 2018.
