Thousands of residents across Hoover, Homewood, Mountain Brook, and Vestavia Hills were unhappy to greet the new year with overflowing garbage cans after continuous trash pickup delays.

Implicated in the delays was the contractor responsible for trash collection in several over-the-mountain cities – AmWaste.
