One person was shot and another person was injured in an altercation Monday afternoon in Lawrence County.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened in the 300 block of County Road 134 at about 1:30 p.m.

Deputies arriving found one shooting victim, who was airlifted to a local hospital. There has been no update as to the victim’s condition.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement that another person, who was involved, received medical treatment for injuries sustained in the altercation.

Sheriff Max Sanders said in a statement that investigators are not actively looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
