Daphne is making progress on a project with the goal of alleviating traffic near the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and County Road 64. The idea for the project has been in discussion since at least 2016.

Construction on the road between the Daphne Police Department and Chick-fil-A, known as Lavender Lane, is now under way. This road will serve as an alternative entrance to the “complex” that Target, Chick-fil-A, Wacky Shrimp, Dixie Service Cleaners and Hancock Whitney Bank call home. The new road is being built behind the restaurants, leading into the south end of the Target parking lot.
