Late-season frost possible overnight in north Alabama

A frosty night is possible in extreme north Alabama tonight.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a frost advisory for Alabama’s northernmost counties.

It will be in effect from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. Monday.

The counties in the advisory are Lauderdale, Colbert, Limestone, Madison and Jackson.

The weather service said temperatures could fall as low as 36 degrees by Monday morning, which could harm sensitive plants that are left exposed.

This is expected to be the coldest night of the week. Temperatures are expected to moderate each night through the rest of the week.

After a cool start it will warm up nicely on Monday, with highs in the 60s and 70s expected.

Here are the forecast highs for Monday.
