Lane Kiffin to hire former Alabama star as an analyst, per report

On the same day it was reported Lane Kiffin has hired former Mississippi State head football coach Zach Arnett as an analyst, the Ole Miss coach is bringing in a former Alabama player in the same capacity.

The Rebels are expected to bring on William Vlachos as an analyst, sources tell 247 Sports.

Vlachos, a former first-team All-SEC selection at center for the Crimson Tide, attended Mountain Brook High School and was recruited by then-Alabama coach Mike Shula. He played, however, under Nick Saban from 2007 to 2011. He was a part of Alabama’s 2009 and 2011 BCS National Championship teams. His coaching career started as a graduate assistant (2013) and offensive analyst (2014-17) on Saban’s staff.

He has also worked at Western Kentucky, the Buffalo Bills, Colorado and Central Michigan.

Vlachos started at center for three seasons at Alabama. As a senior in 2011, he was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy and was a second-team Walter Camp All-American. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans but did not make the team.
