Lane Kiffin declines to rank SEC boosters, but ‘God, I want to so bad,’ cites Greg Sankey’s advice

As Lane Kiffin’s assault on the state of NIL took place Thursday during SEC Media Days in Nashville, much of his argument was directed at the access boosters are getting to players.

“You just told donors you could pay players,” the Ole Miss coach quipped.

Essentially, those schools with boosters with the deepest pockets get the players. You can read more about that on AL.com.

In a follow-up question, Kiffin was asked where the Ole Miss boosters rank among the league’s boosters. Kiffin hesitated before breaking the serious tone of the moment.

“I’m not about to start putting rankings out on boosters from top to bottom in the conference” he said as the gathered media laughed. “God, I want to so bad.

“The commissioner (Greg Sankey) said, ‘Remember, we’ve grown a lot. You don’t have to respond to every question to show everyone you have the answer.’”
