Lane Kiffin asked about Texas A&M opening after Jimbo Fisher firing

Lane Kiffin was still reeling from Ole Miss’ 52-17 loss to Georgia on Sunday. Still, he shouldn’t have been surprised when he was asked about Teas A&M firing Jimbo Fisher.

Kiffin’s name has popped up on a number of list for potential candidates.

On Sunday, he didn’t take the bait.

“I’m not going there again,” Kiffin said, per 247Sports.. “I should’ve been prepared for that question, I wasn’t. I’m not answering that. …

“We got back in here late and been in here watching that disaster film, worrying about or own problems. I’ve not paid any attention to (Fisher’s firing). That’s the profession we’re in. Now more than ever, it’s a ‘what have you done for me lately?’ Things happen quick. Just is what it is.”

Carson Beck threw for 306 yards, Kendall Milton ran for 127 yards and Brock Bowers made a triumphant return for No. 1 Georgia as the Bulldogs demolished Ole Miss on Saturday night.

After a promising start offensively, the Rebels were held to a field goal over the final three quarters. It was an especially rough night for Jaxson Dart, who threw for just 112 yards with a pick. Meanwhile, the defense looked downright helpless against the reigning national champs.
