Krystal opening prototype restaurant in Center Point: First new location in 6 years
Krystal is hosting its first company store opening in more than six years at a new location in Center Point Tuesday.
And it’s also the debut of its smaller prototype design – a 1,700-square-foot drive-thru without a dining room, using a smaller footprint.
The new location, at 2408 Center Point Pkwy., will host music, games and giveaways from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first 200 guests in line will receive free Krystals for a week.
The new design uses about 20% less kitchen space than the traditional store, and has a double-lane drive thru, as well as a walk-up window and pickup area for online orders and third party delivery services.
Thomas Singer, Krystal Restaurants president, said the prototype “signals a new day for Krystal.”
“We strategically sought more cost efficient opportunities to generate a strong sales-to-investment outcome, as well as a design to fast track franchise development,” Singer said.
Krystal, which declared bankruptcy in January 2020, has announced an aggressive franchise program, signing on multi-unit operators in the past year.
