Krispy Kreme is giving away free doughnuts to celebrate joining McDonald’s menu

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are coming to select McDonald’s but sweet lovers everywhere can join the celebration.

In March, the two brands announced three types of Krispy Kreme doughnuts — original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced “kreme” filled — would go on sale at McDonald’s restaurants.

Eight months later, the merger is finally coming to fruition.

Chicago-area McDonald’s restaurants will start selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts starting Tuesday, Oct. 15, the first part of a phased rollout to McDonald’s locations nationwide by the end of 2026.

“This offer is a sweet way to satisfy doughnut lovers in Chicago, as well as fans all over the country, eagerly awaiting the chance to enjoy this treat at their local McDonald’s,” Krispy Kreme said in a press release.

To celebrate the rollout, participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide will give a free Original Glazed doughnut to anyone who shows a McDonald’s paper or digital receipt dated now through Oct. 14.

“The top request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh doughnuts. Having Krispy Kreme doughnuts under the Golden Arches is golden for our fans and we’re excited to celebrate by giving our guests who also visit a McDonald’s a free Original Glazed doughnut,” said Josh Charlesworth, Krispy Kreme President and CEO, in the same release.
