Krispy Kreme doughnuts are coming to McDonald’s nationwide: Here’s what to know
Fans of McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are in for some good news. McDonald’s will soon add Krispy Kreme doughnuts to its menu.
Three types of Krispy Kreme doughnuts — original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced “kreme” filled — will go on sale at McDonald’s restaurants starting later this year, reports CNN. According to Bloomberg, a nationwide roll out of the doughnuts is expected by 2026.
Adding Krispy Kreme to its menu gives McDonald’s “a chance to unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day,” Tariq Hassan, the chief marketing officer for McDonald’s USA, told Bloomberg.
McDonald’s has been doing a test launch of the doughnut sales in two of its restaurants in Kentucky and the results, Hassan said, have “exceeded expectations.”
Last year, McDonald’s phased out pastries from its bakery menu: the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and the Cinnamon Roll.
