A restaurant chain specializing in Korean barbecue and other Asian fare is coming to Hoover.

HQ BBQ and Hot Pot will open a restaurant at 2740 John Hawkins Pkwy. in Hoover, according to its Facebook page.

The chain, which has locations in Virginia, Georgia and Florida, offers “Shabu Shabu and Korean BBQ modernized with a full bar and nightlife atmosphere.”

The restaurant mixes Korean and Japanese fare in a hands-on, all-you-can-eat experience, according to its website.

Shabu Shabu is a hotpot meal of thinly sliced meat and vegetables boiled in water, usually served with dipping sauces.

An opening date has not yet been announced.
