The Pacers played two competitive games against the Knicks in New York to start this series, but some controversial calls in game 1 aided the Knicks to a 2-0 series lead.
The Knicks trailed by 10 at halftime during game 2, but Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson returned from injury and dominated the Pacers in the second half. Brunson helped the Knicks outscore the Pacers 36-18 in the third quarter to regain control of the game. Despite missing a decent portion of the game, Brunson finished the night with a team-high 29 points. He was assisted on offense by a couple of his teammates, Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby. Both players scored 28 points and helped the Knicks secure a game 2 victory. Heading into game 3, the Knicks will be missing Anunoby because of a hamstring injury. So, the Knicks will have their hands full in Indiana tonight.
The Pacers are currently in a must-win situation, as they are trying to avoid a 3-0 series deficit. Although the Pacers lost both games in New York, they had some positives from game 2 that could carry over into game 3 tonight. Their star guard Tyrese Haliburton finished the night with 34 points in Madison Square Garden, which was his best postseason game this season. So, he will look to extend this second round series with another dominant performance in game 3 tonight.
Alongside Haliburton, the Pacers will need stellar performances from center Myles Turner and forward Pascal Siakam. Both Turner and Siakam struggled in game 2, which was a key reason for their loss.
